A pantry shelf with very different labels
Most of these snacks share the brand’s launch promise of no artificial flavors, synthetic colors or high fructose corn syrup, and most of them name wheat on the Contains line. The exceptions are worth knowing by name. Cheese crisps are cheese and little else, so milk is their only allergen. The dark chocolate crisps name soy alone. The nut bar is peanuts and tree nuts held together with chocolate and honey, and its package says gluten-free.
Sizes run from a two-ounce bag of cheese crisps to a four-tin pack of wafers, so the table ranks by price per ounce and not by shelf price. A small bag that looks cheap at the register can be the dearest ounce on the page.
